      (Current employee)

    • Pros

      1. Salary payment as at when due 2. End of the Year Bonus Payment = 50% of monthly basic salary. Though its not mentioned in employment letter 3. Payment of Annual Leave Allowance (paid exactly when you clock a year) = 50% of monthly basic salary 4. Nigerian Employee Salary advance on request is possible but its at the discretion of the MD and/or CFO 5. End of year gift items (regarded as too small token by the staffs)

    • Cons

      1. Owned by a Lebanese and a family related to the Chagouris 2. Heads of Units are Lebanese with few of them educated to University education level 3. Least Lebanese (Warehouse Manager) monthly earn is NGN 500,000 to their Nigerian bank account plus about $500 to their foreign account plus a Jeep plus a rented and serviced apartment in Festac 4. Highest Nigerian monthly earn is N250,000 gross while the the longest serving Nigerian (about 12 years) monthly earn is N200,000. HR earns N210,000 gross monthly. 5. No promotion and no structure - Lebanese MD, CFO, Sales/Commercial Mgr, Show room/Branch Mgr, BDM and Warehouse Mgr remains same from inception 6. Confirmation of employment is not a priority so increment to salary is not a priority especially because Appraisal is one sided because they pass the judgement and forward it to Nigerian HR who is handicapped too to effect the standard 7. Due to nature of business and management, few staff are using computers (desktop) so few email users. Access to internet is highly restricted. 8. Work hours are 8:30 am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays and 9am to 1:30pm on Saturday. 9. Lateness after 9am on Mondays through Fridays and lateness after 9:30am on Saturday will cause a deduction of 50% of the day's salary. This is not written in the employment letter. This action was observed when there was no HR between July and October 2019 and heavy road construction work between Oshodi and Cele. 10. Employee manual not provided to staffs 11. No birthday gift, no end of the year party and no employee get-together or meetings 12. No personal loan request (except at the discretion of the MD which allows 1 out of 10 staffs possible request per year)
