First, Kenya Scouts is not an NGO, its a Semi Autonomous government agency. It receives part of its income from the government and it was formed through an Act of Parliament.
Cons
The politics in this institution doesn't allow anyone with professional qualifications to thrive there. Most employees are form 4 leavers and a few have technical qualifications.
The board doesn't oversight the operations of the Association, but are rather involved in the day today running of the institution which creates a lot of conflicts between board members and staff.
Unless you are going to work there as a driver/ cleaner or grounds people, it is a highly toxic environment.
